Tigerair Mandala story
Tigerair Mandala (formerly Mandala Airlines) is a no-frills carrier headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia and is supported by two strong shareholders – Indonesia's leading investment company, Saratoga Capital, and Asia's fastest growing airline, Tigerair Group.
Founded in 1969, the Mandala brand is a pioneer in Indonesia's civil aviation industry with a long-standing good reputation. After going through a restructuring process in 2011, Mandala Airlines restarted its operations in April 2012 with a brand new face, business model and approach.
On July 3rd 2013, the airline launched its new brand name – Tigerair Mandala, with a new logo that represents warmth, passion and being genuine.
Tigerair Mandala's reach extends to Tigerair group's network of over 50 destinations across 13 countries in the Asia Pacific region. Tigerair Mandala currently operates the youngest fleet of aircraft in the Indonesian aviation industry, flying brand new Airbus A320 aircraft with an average age of 5 months.
All Tigerair Mandala's aircraft are maintained by Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC). As one of the Indonesian airline not listed in the European Union (EU) ban, Tigerair Mandala applies one of the highest safety standard and maintenance with a high 86% On-Time Performance (OTP) rate within 15 minutes time range and 99% within 1 hour time range.

On October 28 2013, Tigerair Mandala was awarded as "the Promising New Foreign Airline of the Year 2012" by KL International Airport (KLIA). The award was presented by Malaysia Airports and is the only award in the country that pays tribute to the best performers in the aviation industry.

Tigerair Group Fleet
Tigerair Group has a fleet of A320 family aircraft with an average age of under three years. Tigerair Group plans to build its fleet to 68 aircraft by December 2015.
